Which devices can play Foldling?
Foldling runs on iPhone and iPad.
On a iPhone Duo, you play the game by physically folding, closing and opening the device. That is how Foldling was designed to be played.
On every other iPhone and iPad, on-screen controls take the place of the hinge. You tap them to fold, close and open the world. The entire game is playable this way. No level, world or feature is locked behind foldable hardware.
I don't have a iPhone Duo. Am I missing content?
No. Every level can be completed with the on-screen controls, and the game is complete either way. Folding a real device simply feels different — the motion is yours rather than a tap.
How is my progress saved?
Your progress and settings are saved automatically on your device as you play. Nothing is stored on a server, and no account is required.
Because the save lives on your device, deleting the app deletes your progress. If your device is set to back up app data through iCloud, your save may be included in that backup.
How do I reset my progress?
You can start over from the game's settings screen. If you prefer, deleting and reinstalling the app also clears everything.
Does Foldling need an internet connection?
No. Foldling is completely offline. It never connects to the internet, contains no ads, and has no in-app purchases. You buy it once and the whole game is yours.
Something looks wrong, or the game won't start
A few things worth trying first:
- Close the app fully and reopen it.
- Make sure your device is running a recent version of iOS or iPadOS.
- Restart your device.
If the problem is still there, email me with your device model, your iOS version, and what you were doing when it happened. A screenshot or screen recording helps enormously.
